      Welcome to Volunteer Resources Administration Online Training. This program has been designed for individuals interested in entering the profession of Volunteer Management or already practicing and needing a refresher. This training will give you the tools to:

      • Negotiate the creation of a volunteer program in your organization
      • Manage a volunteer program already in place
      • Become a professional in Volunteer Resources Administration

      Every course is comprised of three to four lessons followed by a quiz for each lesson. In order to obtain a Certificate of Completion from the Volunteer Burnaby Centre Society you will need to complete all the training with a passing score of 80% in each individual quiz.

      Become a member of Volunteer Burnaby and receive and additional 10% discount upon completion of the entire program.

The key to success for your volunteer program is the complete involvement of your entire organization. Board and executive intentionally deciding to involve volunteers to advance the mission and vision of the organization. Volunteering and volunteers are consider by every member of the organization, paid and unpaid, essential to the achieving the goals, objectives and purpose of your social enterprise.

This is a self directed study program to help you acquire, refresh or develop the  skills needed to prepare your organization to welcome volunteers of all backgrounds.

Involving volunteers requires the upmost professional approach. The understanding of what motivates people to participate, volunteer and give is the best tool you can have for a successful volunteer program. This course will help you acquire those tools.

This is three lesson course and you will start with lesson number four followed by a quiz that requires and 80% passing score. After each quiz you will be directed to the next lesson. Do not leave mid quiz because you will get a failing mark if you do so. You can leave mid lesson and come back to the same spot to continue later. The average time required for this course is 4 hours.

This course is a continuation of Volunteer Cycle I. Every step of the volunteer cycle deserves all your attention. Your level of dedication will send a positive message to your satkeholders and the leadership of your organization. Even most important, it will tell your volunteers that they are welcomed and appreciated.

Congratulations! You have chosen to be an Administrator of Volunteer Resources. In this new chosen profession you will need to be ready to respond to every situation with complete professionalism. From dealing with the leadership of your organization to direct interaction with the community, you will need a new level of understanding of volunteerism and its benefits to the organization, the volunteers and the impact they have in the community.  You will also need to connect with others in the profession for support and advocacy.
